New York Comic Con is just around the corner and this year, there’s a special area for toy artists called the Cultyard. You know i’ll be there wandering around, checking out all the new stuff that artists will have this year.
First up is Keith Poon’s Myth Warrior Resin Figure, this one with a dragon head and body that brings to mind the terra cotta warriors found in Xian, China.
This is an edition of 50 hand painted resin pieces, with 25 available at the convention and the rest to be sold online.
Next up are the transformer series of custom Bertie the Pipe Bomb by Ashley Wood.
These two are the Megatron and Galvatron customs, while the two below are modeled after Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. They will also be available at NYCC.
Last but certainly not least, we have the new 5” inch Sharky, in two colorways, the NYCC version limited to 150 pieces, and the Baby Sharky colorway. Both will be for sale for $44.99.
I’m happy to announce that “The Vinyl Frontier” will once again be playing in NYC, as part of the Royal Flush Festival.
The Royal Flush Festival is a brand new force in the independent film, art and music scene. Initially founded in 2005 as the E. Vil City Film Fest in NYC’s East Village, this opportunity to enjoy movies and booze with like-minded people is expanding dramatically in its fifth year with a new partner.
I’m happy to announce that “The Vinyl Frontier” will be screening at the SmodCastle in LA. There will be a Q&A with the director and some of the artists following the film.
Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of screening The Vinyl Frontier at the B&H Event Space. The 60 person theater is usually the site of many interesting photo and video related talks and it’s conveniently located in B&H Photo in New York. After the film, I did a short Q&A with Bill McMullen, Nemo, and the Sucklord.
